A
musician, lyricist, composer, singer… someone in the arts – we are super
sensitive which leaves us open for thoughts and feelings of jealousy.
Jealously
quandary
it’s a brain activity
not a heart activity.
it’s a brain activity
not a heart activity.
While
we smile and pretend we are happy for someone else as we deal with thoughts
like these:
1. There can only be one lead
2. Why didn’t they pick me
3. I am better than them
4. When will I get to minister in music?
5. I want to do my music
·
Luke 12:15: “Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your
guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an
abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”
·
Colossians
3:5 “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual
immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”
·
II
Corinthians 11:3 “But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the
serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and
pure devotion to Christ.”
The serpent in the Garden of Eden brought
doubt so Eve yielded to that doubt and lost everything.
Gen
3:6 “When the woman saw that the fruit of the
tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining
wisdom, she took some and ate it.”
Jealousy
– is a lousy coat worn to hide feelings of doubt. We all have covetous brain
activity. We have a choice: Take off the jealousy coat and walk in God’s love
or keep it on and lose everything.
